There have been so many little, seemingly insignificant prayers of mine that I have watched God answer. Stupid things... parking spaces, rain stopping so I can bring in groceries, little boys going to sleep so I could get in the shower. This week I got to see my great big God do something silly and unimportant to anyone but me... again. I'll explain in a minute...
This week was a little hectic, and I realized that my blog address on all my pictures was wrong.... you know you're crazy when you don't even know your own blog. I had to take time to fix all the pictures!!!
So, my goals for this last week were to practice the piano... which I actually did, 5 days of the week!! To use my brain every day.... which I failed miserably at. Finish school every day... which I did (Yay!!).
I also had to finish off the chairs for the Prayer Room. Here is where my blessing kicked in. Okay, we remember the old ugly covered chairs, right??
They were dining room chairs, so I wanted to add some padding to make them look more like parlor chairs, and less like re-purposed dining chairs. The only problem with that was, I didn't have quilt batting, so the padding would stay put and not get lumpy... or the money to buy said batting. I actually only had a few old pillows to use the stuffing from. One of the pillows, my mother-in-law had given me about seven years ago when my middle Joe Bob was moving from a crib to a bed.... it happened to be the one I cut open to grab the stuffing from. Wouldn't you know it, the pillow was made of quilt batting that was wrapped round and round itself???? God knew SEVEN YEARS AGO that I would need quilt batting this week, and He supplied my need!!!!! And here they are:
Well, one of them. I did both, but only took the picture of this one. God also answered a prayer in that He had the Joe Bobs go on a church camping trip with their Daddy, giving me a very late night to do this:
Until early in the morning. The chairs were completely sanded, and repainted....
But then, my little mouse sander gave up the ghost... after only three months, and I had to wait to go out to church so I could get the receipt out of the bag of trash up there.... Thank the Lord, we didn't throw anything away yet!!!!
Here's how the chairs look now, but they need to be roughed up a little too...
WooHOO!!!! And I even got the dresser drawer pulls double coated!!
I was only able to get one coat of the blue lettering done on Knock this Wednesday:
And I was unable to do the white coat on the K. BUT, We get to go to church tomorrow and paint the ceiling white, get the room cleaned out, and get the walls painted on Wednesday, and the "Seek and ye shall find" statement traced up on the last wall. And sand the mirror.
I did not finish the 100 THM pages, actually, only a measly 30, but I have been looking through and making a ton of new recipes... Although I was very bad at the end of the week when the boys were away.
All in all, I had a fairly useful week!! Now to plan this next one. Sorry I was late getting this out. Thanks for keeping me accountable again.
